With so many home builders out there, it can be overwhelming. Add in energy-efficient standards, materials and what that means for your home and building can be a stressful experience.

How we build your custom home

Built on transparency, open communication and respect, we’ve designed our process so you feel a part of your build from start to finish. We use every day language and simple steps - without all the industry jargon, so it’s easy to understand.

Step 1:

Discussion

Here, we’ll go over the who, what, when, where, why and how and start pull together a picture of what you need. We’ll also go over your ideas, chat through build requirements or challenges, and energy-efficient features you have your eye on.

Have a specific build or land challenge? Our experienced team have seen designed and built it all and can provide advice on a way forward. We’ll also dive into estimates to help you make an informed decision.

Step 2:

Consultation

So you’ve decided Green Design Homes is for you, we’ll work through the finer details together and define everything from layouts and design must-haves to fittings, fixtures, budgets and timelines.

This step is completed at our display home or by appointment at our head office with an experienced design and build consultant.

Step 3:

Design

We’ll take all the details from your consultation and create a custom design to suit your needs, style and budget. 

Here, our team will present you a proposal with:

  • Floor plans, design concepts and 3D visualisations
  • Architectural and style examples
  • Samples of proposed fittings, fixtures and finishes
  • Proposed design options and build considerations

Your dedicated designer will work with you to finalise the concept and ensure it meets your needs, budget, land and location requirements.

Step 4:

Quote

Love the design and concept? We then move onto quoting, providing a detailed estimate with all the ins and outs so everything is clear up front.

Our experienced estimator work with our wider team, suppliers and trades to ensure these estimates are as accurate as possible. This all inclusive-package is then presented to you with the final designs and a full scope of work for you to review and provide final feedback.

We’ll also define a clear construction schedule so you know exactly how your build will progress.

Step 5:

Build

Once everything has been signed off and locked in, your build begins!

Your dedicated project manager will work alongside our registered builder, ensuring your home is built exactly how you want it. Have questions along the way? Your project manager will be your go-to and be with you throughout your build.

Our team will manage each and every step of your project – from demolition (for our knock-down projects) to construction and the construction and through to completion. If something changes along the way? No matter how big or small, our team will be in touch with you to discuss any changes to your design, finishes or fixtures long before it happens.

Step 6:

Handover

Before we hand over the keys, our project team will do a full walk through and quality check of your completed home.

We’ll then do a final walk through with you and make sure you’re happy before handing over the key to your new home!
